2013 Schedule

June 7 – June 22  DEATHTRAP
by William Levin
A famous playwright will stop at nothing (including murder!) to create his next big hit. Great writing and heart-stopping twists are what made this play-within-a-play the longest running comedy-thriller on Broadway! Sure to keep you guessing – and gasping — until the very end!

June 25 – July 6  TAMED
by William Shakespeare
adapted by Holly Hepp-Galvan
In this modern-day take on Taming of the Shrew, the fast-talking hero hired to tame and marry a beautiful, but rough-around-the edges bride is a rugged back-woods reality TV star famous for catching wild animals. (Kind of like “Turtleman!”) It’s Shakespeare, Kentucky style, y’all!

**New Play Premiere & Irish Festival!**
July 9 – July 20 THE SEARCH FOR TINKER DOYLE
by Elizabeth Orndorff
A 30th wedding anniversary trip to Ireland isn’t all that it appears. Not when the small town mayor husband is more interested in politics than romance and the suddenly nostalgic wife decides to look up the old Irish flame of her youth. An original, heart-warming comedy by our favorite KY playwright that celebrates love and marriage — and the unique bond Danville shares with its Irish sister city, Carrickfergus.

Don’t just come for the play! Join us for 3 days of fun with…

Danville’s First-Ever Irish Festival!
July 12, 13, 14
Irish Dancing! Irish Food! Irish Art! Irish Music! And lots more!

July 23 – August 3 MOON OVER BUFFALO
By Ken Ludwig
The Hays are fading stars of the stage, still waiting for their big break. When a Hollywood director announces he’s flying in to catch their next show, it’s a dream come true…or is it? Can a zany theater family hold it together for one more career-making performance, or will some seriously silly drama – and the blizzard of the century – blow them all apart? Playhouse faves Pat Hammond and Eben French Mastin star in roles made famous by Carol Burnett and Philip Bosco on Broadway!

**New Play from author of Playhouse hit Kosher Lutherans!**

August 6 – August 17  COCKEYED
by William Missouri Downs
What’s a guy to do when he’s (literally) invisible to the girl of his dreams? That’s the question at the heart of this clever romantic comedy about a Plato-quoting philosophy major turned accountant who must win over the gorgeous, but one-eyed gal in the next cubicle before she agrees to marry the handsome, but caddish company boss.
“Fresh and invigorating!” (Playback Magazine)

**Special Comedy Event – Back By Popular Demand!**

August 22, 23, 24
You laughed, we listened! Etta May, aka “Minnie Pearl with a Migraine,” will enter the Playhouse arena for another round of polyester pants-splitting fun! And this time, she’s joined by crowd favorite, Eben French Mastin, in his very own comedy review opener! Etta May plus Eben equals Lots of Laughs!
