Volunteers Program

Pioneer Playhouse needs volunteers for a 12-week period starting in early June through mid-August. Volunteers (individuals, couples, or groups) are invited to spend any length of time during that time period.

Pioneer Playhouse is a non-profit organization that operates with a limited budget and staff. Volunteers are needed to help in all areas: ushering, sewing costumes, assisting with backstage work. Being a volunteer is an excellent way to join the Playhouse Family ... while learning the ins and outs of summer theatre operations.

Two types of volunteers are needed:

  • Those that live off property and commute to the the Playhouse
  • Those that live on theatre grounds and become a part of the resident company. Volunteers that live on-property will be provided with their own room (bathrooms are communal) and three meals every day, except Sunday. They will co-exist with the resident acting company and be available to perform theatre-related duties (according to their skills and desires) for approximately four to six hours a day (off Sunday and Monday).

We need volunteers for a 12 week period starting June 4 - August 25, but shorter stays are negotiable.

If you would like to become a volunteer (and assist with the exciting work of staging five plays in ten weeks) then write or email:
